Fairlight Graphite Kitchen Doors
Even if your kitchen is fairly small with not a lot of light, you might still love the idea of using black as a kitchen door colour. Fair enough - black is a great colour for any kitchen as it adds drama and is thoroughly contemporary. However, there is another option - Graphite on the Fairlight kitchen door. Not only will this give you a softer dark grey, it will offer the same drama without taking away the light in the room. Plus the style is modern and well-crafted with plenty of detail.
The Fairlight door has many attractive features - from the vertical grooves that run top to bottom, to the generous framework, this is a Shaker-style door that has been brought into the 21st century. The central panel sits proud of the rest of the door giving it special prominence and the recesses offer light and dark to the entire door. The drawer front, while plainer, is still ideal for creating the look you want.
We think that Graphite is an ideal option for a door like this. The finish ensures that none of the detail is lost, while the darker shade gives impact to your kitchen - highlighting the worktops and the tiles. The colour has an organic feel to it and feels very natural, without any of the harshness that can come from black. You might wonder what colours to combine with this Graphite on the Fairlight door - any light shades will lift it, while brighter colours will increase the sense of scale and drama. Really, the choice is yours.
Colours
We do our best to produce accurate images but there may be some slight variation between how the colour appears on your screen and how it looks on the door. We always recommend ordering free colour swatches or purchasing a sample door so you can see exactly what your colour choice will look like.

Please note that doors and drawer fronts are sold separately. Our images show doors with their corresponding drawer fronts, but this is for illustrative purposes only.

Drawer fronts
Drawer front design is supplied on all sizes up to 282mm high. The minimum height is 80mm and minimum width 80mm. Maximum width is 1200mm. Drawer fronts are supplied with horizontal grain unless specified otherwise.
Some handles will not fit small drawer fronts and care should be taken before fitting to ensure that the handles you have chosen will fit the size and style of doors/drawers that you have chosen.
Doors
Doors are supplied with vertical grain.
The dimensions of a door will determine the type of door supplied. Height 283mm to 1699mm will be supplied as a door without a midrail. Height 1700mm to 2540mm will be supplied with a midrail, which will be double the width of the frame. Doors with a midrail will have it supplied at 655mm from the bottom edge to its centre as standard. If you want the midrail at a different height please specify this on your order form.
The largest door we manufacture is 2540mm high by 1200mm wide.
Frame doors
Frame doors are supplied unglazed, with a rebated back and a soft glazing gasket. Doors can be supplied as Open Frames or Georgian Frames. Tall doors supplied with a midrail can have full open frames (i.e. with no midrail), top open frames or top and bottom open frames. Please specify this when ordering.
Georgian frames will be supplied as follows:
Up to 800mm high | 4 panes |
---|---|
801mm - 1100mm | 6 panes |
Over 1100mm high | 8 panes |
Panels
The minimum height for panels is 80mm, and the minimum width is 80mm. Maximum width is 1200mm. The grain direction of panels will match the doors - except panels below the height of 282mm, which will be supplied with horizontal grain unless stated otherwise. The backs of panels will match the backs of the doors.
Handles
Handles are not supplied as standard, please choose any handle you wish from our range, or fit your own.
Drilling for hinges and handles
All doors come undrilled as standard. However, we offer a hinge hole drilling service at a modest cost.
Please let us know your hinge hole measurements and we will drill them accordingly. Measure from the top or bottom of the door to the centre of the hinge hole. If you need any guidance on measuring for hinges, watch our DIY help videos or give us a call.
You can have your hinge holes drilled from 60mm from the bottom and top edge of the door.
We are unable to drill for handles.
Matching door backs
The term 'matching back' means that the door will have a similar coloured melamine back, rather than a vinyl back and as such the colour and texture may be different from the front of the door. In particular, textured and high gloss colour doors will be supplied with a smooth matt finish back.
All doors are supplied with matching finish backs with the following exceptions:
Avola Grey | Stone Grey back |
---|---|
High Gloss Cappuccino | Cream back |
High Gloss Red | White back |
Magnolia | Ivory back |
Montana Oak | Lissa Oak back |
Ontario Maple | Acacia back |
Paintable Vinyl | White back |
Horizontal grain
Horizontal grain is available as a special request in all woodgrain colour options. High gloss colours are available with horizontal grain up to 1200mm high. Standard woodgrain colours are available up to 1200mm high.
The same applies to wine rack fronts, modern canopies, plain canopies, T&G canopies and PVC panels, and are made as specified.
High gloss colours
High gloss finishes are manufactured using a heavier gauge vinyl and as such definition can be less sharp on items which have more detailed designs.

"Sent off for a sample to check colour match. The sample matched our kitchen so we ordered three doors to replace the damaged ones in our kitchen . Very easy really just waiting for delivery . The only slight downside is that I paid £475 for the doors then" David Fleming
